34. Corn Bread Hamburger Pie

this morning we were on our way to a preschoolers birthday party and I told my husband to pick what he wanted for dinner out of a cookbook. he picked this. Make sure you are ready to make what your husband picks!
Dave loved it, I liked it, Eli thought it was ok and Elise went to be bed at 7.

*1 lb ground beef
*1 medium onion chopped
*1 medium green pepper chopped
*1 package corn bread mix
*1 can condensed tomato soup
*1/4 cup salsa
*2 TBSP ketchup
*1 TBSP steak sauce

Preheat over to 400
Cook the beef, onion and pepper over medium heat until beef is no longer pink, cook in a an ovenproof skillet
Meanwhile prepare corn bread according to package directions and let stand 2 minutes
Stir in the other ingredients into beef mixture
Spoon corn bread mixture over beef
bake, uncovered for 15 minutes until lightly browned

I also added corn and black beans to this and it was good. I would also add taco mix the next time for a little kick.
