38. Beef and Broccoli Stir Fry
this was awesome. Dave and I loved it and it had a kick to it. try it and let me know how you like it! Dave liked this stir fry better and I liked the one last week better.
*6 cups broccoli
*1 TBSP ginger
*1tsp plus 1 TBSP cornstack
*1 tsp garlic salt
*1/2 tsp red pepper flakes
*2 TBSP vegetable oil
*1 flake steak, about 2 lbs, thinly sliced
*1 head bok choy (this I also had to get at whole foods.)
*1/2 cup orange juice
*2 TBSP teriyaki sauce
*2 TBSP water
*2 medium scallions, trimmed and chopped
*3 cups chow mein noodles
*1/2 cup cashews
Bring a large pot of water to boil and add the broccoli
Cook for 2 minutes and take out of water
In a small bowl mix ginger, 1 tsp cornstarch, garlic and red pepper flakes
In a large skillet heat oil over a high heat
Toss the beef in the ginger mixture
Add beef to skillet and cook about 3 minutes or until no longer pink
Add the boy choy and broccoli cook for another 3 minutes
Meanwhile in a small bowl whisk the Orange juice, teriyaki sauce, water and 1 TBSP cornstarch
Add to the skillet
Cook until sauce is thick about 2 minutes
Remove from heat and add the scallion
Serve over chow mein noodles and top with cashews.
I am not sure that my kids would have eaten this. It had a kick to it.
Also the bread from yesterday was good. Elise told me that is was almost as good as Wendys bread. Almost!!!
